Wal-mart...again
Econ 101 here. Why don't journalists just stick to the facts? It's obvious to anyone with any sort of common sense that Wal-Mart dropping the price on a single product would not put multiple companies out of business. Also, how is this bad for the consumer? Sheesh, idiots.

More housing bubble-y-ness
He paints a bleak picture folks. Wow, I'm a glutton for punishment. I'm scared.
Ok, not really, but I feel bad for you people out there with resetting ARMs.

Wal-mart bad for the poor?
Only if you don't understand basic economics. Jonathan Wallace with the lesson. Also, check out Penn and Teller on the subject.

Zito...again
Zito makes his 3rd start for the Giants tomorrow, let's see if he can improve on the 8.18 ERA. Jayson Stark quotes a scout this week: "Barry Zito was the single worst signing of the winter. He's just not a top-of-the-rotation guy anymore." Wait, except for 2002, was he ever?

More on the Housing Bubble
From Robert Blumen...wait, do you hear that? That's the bubble bursting. He also mentions a possible bailout, great saddle the taxpayer with the bill. Wonderful.

Imus
This whole Imus thing is surreal. Why draw attention to someone no one with an IQ above room temperature listens to? Sad really. He gets paid to do this folks....let his employers handle it, and if you have a problem with him, don't listen to him. As far as I know, all radios still have the ability to have their stations changed.

Detroit Rock City!!
Well, for you all that haven't been paying attention to the falling housing market, it seems Detroit has houses for sale that are cheaper than new cars. So, of course Congress is now rushing in with a new flurry of regulations and a rescue plan for stupid consumers.
This could have most certainly been avoided, by just learning some simple economics.
Also, for those of you keeping track of the sub-prime lending market, the Implode-O-Meter now is at 50 lenders out of bidness and still counting. Thanks Gary North for showing us the light(in February there were 14 bankruptcies). Nice.

Fear is the Mindkiller
Cameras and microphones in airline seats! Fred Reed with the play by play, and the curmudgeon describes it as only he can.
I definitely feel safer now.

Padres off to a decent start
Good thinking Bochy, way to lose 2 of 3 to your former team. The Cheater also managed to hit a dinger in the series. Just remember to asterisk that "record". A thumbs up also goes to Barry Zito, way to milk the Giants for $10,000,000 this year. The mediocrity we saw with the A's continued into his first start this year.
Maddux makes his first start as a Padre tonight. I can't believe the guy is 40. I remember watching him play as a Cubbie on WGN against the Dads, with Harry Caray attempting to say Mike Pagliarulo. Fun times.

Ubuntu on a Laptop?
How easy can this be? Holy cow, the masters of ease....those at Ubuntu made this such a cakewalk even my wife could install it. Throw in the CD, boot it up, click Install. Even on a POS like the IBM R52 every piece of hardware was identified, sheesh even OpenSSL and RDesktop were already installed, no binaries, no compiling, no nothing.
For those that need Windows still(like me), I just RDP to a little workstation to get all my Windows shizz done, which keeps the laptop free and clear of any irritating Java apps(thanks Novell for ConsoleOne, ok not really). K-Fed would even approve.
